Centurio Vineyard- Kékfrankos, 2020

KÉKFRANKOS 2020: a blend of Kékfrankos grown on Fáy-domb (50%) and Diós vineyard (50%). Aged in barrels for 12 months, bottled without fining or filtering to preserve authenticity. Intense raspberry syrup on the nose leading to fine tannins and typically zesty Mátra acidity on the palate. This is a Kékfrankos from a vintage with continental weather, medium length finish and good potential for ageing.

Yield per vine: 1-1.5 kg. Farming: organic (all vineyards are under officially controlled organic conversion). Fermentation: ambient yeasts.

DIÓS vineyard: Southern exposure, volcanic bedrock and gravel. The topsoil is brown forest soil rich in clay. An outstanding cru.

Fáy-domb vineyard: Western exposure; the topsoil is brown forest soil and loess rich in clay. A very reliable spot. Accessible for farming even after the haviest rains. Bedrock: lignite.
