The Hernyák Estate has been crafting sparkling wines since 2006 in Etyek. The early experimentary items have been gradually replaced by more substantial and remarkable wines since 2016. The Hernyáks are loyal to the original Champagne varieties, their wines are shaped by the individual personalities of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc. The wines are aged at least for 36 months. This prolonged period of ageing on the lees endows their sparkling wines with notes of brioche, yeast, bread crust and creme and the rich variety of aromas mingles with the silky mousse and the tiniest amount of dosage makes it all balanced and round. The currently available Brut is a forerunner of the brand new AOC system, Etyeki Pezsgő OEM which comes into effect in 2023. The Hernyák Family strongly believes that the best way to express the Etyek vineyards and climate is through the production of sparkling wines. As a consequence they have decided to produce almost exclusively sparkling wines in the future.
