Szende Winery – Kopár Villányi Franc, 2017

Kopár is one of Villány’s hottest vineyards with calcareous soils. The vineyard where the grapes come from is at the foot of Szársomlyó Hill and it has a southern exposure. What makes it special is the fact that the daytime heat is stored by the hill which is then radiated back to the vines at night. The grapes were harvested on October 17. Fermented with selected yeasts in stainless steel tanks the wine was aged in new 500 l Hungarian oak barrels for 24 months. Bottled in February 2020.
